District 8

 

ADMISSION CHARGES:

Adults (18 and up)                       $10.00   (per day)

Students (12 to 17)                     $5.00    (per day)

Under age 12                                Free

 

 

SEEDING:   

  •  Seeding will be done via “coaches vote”.    -   (VIA Email)

  • This will be done by seeding teams “ 1 thru 6”. 

 

PLAYING RULES:

  • Home Team is to have access to a place to hit at Least 90 Minutes before the beginning of their scheduled game time.   (Off-Site) -  unless its first game of the day

  • The visiting team is to have access to a place to hit at least 60 minutes  before their scheduled game time for ½ hour batting practice.   (Off-Site) – unless its first game of the day

  • Highest Seed will always be Home Team

  • Dugouts – Home Team (3rd Base Dugout)

Visiting Team (1st Base Dugout)

ONLY Exception is if Host Site is playing, they get their home dugout

  • Both Teams are required to be ready to take infield practice at least 25 minutes before scheduled game time. 

  • The home team will then take infield practice FIRST for 10 minutes followed by the visiting team for 10 minutes.  All infield practices are to be started on time, or your practice will be cut short so the game will start on time.

  • A printed copy of ground rules will be posted in each dugout.

  • Playing Rules are to be followed per MBA Handbook Rules (No Exceptions)

  • Ejections will be enforced per the MBA Handbook (Please try to control your players)

  • Players must warm up in designated bullpens when game is in progress.

  • No smoking or drinking by players in uniform in dugout, on field anytime during play

  • All players and coaches must have full uniforms on while on field.

  • Batboys and girls must wear helmets.

  • Game will be shortened to 7 innings if one team has at least 10 runs or more.

  • All games must go 9 innings.  If a game is called before 9 innings are completed, the game will be resumed from the point of interruption.  A suspended game will resume at the site it was being played or at a backup site designated to be playable.

  • All disputes must be settled before game resumes. (NO PROTESTS)

Disputes will be resolved by the Commissioner or a District Assistant in case of conflict

of interests (THEIR team is involved in the dispute)

  • There will be no courtesy runners.

  • Umpires are to enforce all rules to help speed up games.

  • All players eligible to play in the game must be on the lineup card when turned in before the game or they will not be eligible to play in THAT game. (or the resumed game)

  • Host Sites are expected to collect admission (starting ½ hour prior to game time), play the national anthem, and have an announcer at all games.

  • District Shares will be distributed out after the conclusion of the Tournament.

Shares will be on a per game bases (after all expenses – umpires, mileage, postage & misc.)

 

  • COMMISSIONER reserves the right to adjust the schedule due to the threat of weather.

  • If weather/rain does not allow to finish games on final weekend.  State Tournament Berths will be determined by the Highest Seeds remaining in the Tournament at the time. 

 

BASEBALLS:  Only baseballs to be used are ones approved by the MBA.

                            Low Seam Baseballs ONLY!  (Diamond or Rawlings)

UMPIRES:  The South-Central Umpires Association will supply two umpires for all games.

                              

ROSTERS & Eligibility :   Rosters will all be approved by Leagues and then submitted to District Commissioner before the first games. 

 

**Eligibility for Post Season:  (4) League or (4) District Games and or a combination of both are required.    (4 Games Total) – per player

 

DRAFT:  The Draft will try to be conducted immediately after the conclusion of the final game. 

                      Each team will be allowed to draft (2) players in the order they finished in the

                      District Tournament.   All players who wish to be drafted, if eliminated will be required to

                      Be submitted to the commissioner prior to the start of the Tournament.  ONLY players

                      On the list will be eligible to be drafted.

  •  Any player that declines to play with a team is disqualified to be drafted by anyone else.

  •  If drafted cannot be conducted at the conclusion of the last game, it will be conducted via group text message and needs to be completed by the end of the day Sunday (Aug 10)
